Model Citizens: Pornhub Ambassador Kira Noir on Pornhub

By Pornhub | July 18, 2022

For our first Model Citizens blog of the year, we thought it was only fitting to put the spotlight on the newest member of our Pornhub family -- Kira Noir. You may have recently seen her at the Pornhub Awards and our current Sexstainability campaign where we partnered up with 2030 or Bust to help and support their work in ending the climate crisis.

So keep on scrolling and get to know the latest addition to our team of brand ambassadors, Kira Noir.

What influenced you to join the industry and how long ago was that?

So I'm a huge fan of Skin Diamond and Stoya, and I saw they pretty much got their start on this site called Gods Girls, which was an alternative photo set, for the most part, where girls could submit their own work or work with their photographers. And since I was such a big fan, I wanted to be like them. Plus, I also needed to pay my bills. So I started submitting my own sets to Gods Girls and it just kind of snowballed from there. This was back in 2013.

At what point did you realize you were gaining momentum and becoming a big name in the industry?

I still don't feel like I'm a big name. I've been having a lot of fun over the last couple of years. I'm very glad that I've been able to do it for this long, but I have a lot of friends that I feel like are big superstars for me and I’m not at their level yet.

Who are your big superstar idols that you look up to and hope to reach their level one day?

Skin Diamond and Stoya are still my big two. I also really like Riley Reid, especially the way she handles her own site. At this point, she can pretty much do whatever she wants and that’s great! I think she’s a very smart businesswoman.

I’ve also know Abella Danger for a long time. We were part of the same agency, so we’ve cross paths quite a lot. She’s also business-oriented and very professional. It’s easy to get lost in common pitfalls, so I really admire the way she’s become very successful. I would love to be better at running my own site and eventually shooting other people’s content.

Where do you see your career going? Do you think you’ll stay in the industry but do more work behind the camera?

Absolutely, that’s my goal! If not, then I would love to just have a house that I can rent out to other performers and have some rooms set aside specifically for people who are smaller content creators. That way, I can I have both professional studios and people who want to get creative with their cellphones.

What would you say has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned over the past 7-8 years?

To save money. I’ve only started focusing on saving some of my income in the last 2 years, especially since I don’t have a normal, 5-to-9 kind of job. I went from a low-income family to suddenly having more money in my hands than I ever thought. So it was really fun going on spending sprees and vacations and buying all the stuff I've always wanted. When that wore off, I started feeling really down about it because at the end of the day, you don’t have anything to show for it if you can’t, say, break you leg the next day and still be financially okay.

So I always try to tell people who are new to the industry to save their money. But even when everyone tells you to, we all kind of have that attitude like, “Yes okay, I’ll eventually save my money, but I’m going to buy this big thing first.” I would advise to save first, and then buy the big thing. You can do both!

It’s also a good idea to save content if you can, especially when you’re making your own stuff starting from scratch. That way, if you have a bad week where you need some time for your mental health, or you need to stop shooting to take care of family, or whatever the reason, you'll already have content you can use and upload.

On the days you’re feeling good, having fun, and when everything is flowing, shoot a bunch of content, but don’t release it all immediately. Put aside some for the weeks you don’t feel like shooting anything.

You went from camming and shooting your own content to more professional filming. Do you have any advice for Models who are thinking of making the switch and filming more with studios?

I think it’s a good idea to have your own content library already, and to get yourself more established first. It’s easier now more than ever to do that. That way, if and when you do want to film with outside companies, you won’t feel like you have to accept a role you’re not very excited about and don’t want to do because you don’t have to.

And if you’re already shooting your own stuff and thinking about transitioning over to professional, don’t let your own stuff fall to the wayside. Always keep that your major source of income.

What do you think has helped you succeed and stand out?

I don’t know! I don’t think I’m ugly, but I’m not my own type, so I don’t understand why this has gone on for as long as it has. I don’t get it, but I’m very grateful.

How did you feel when Pornhub first approached you about being an ambassador?

I was super excited! I was getting Thai food with a friend and was picking up the order when I heard. I had to stop myself from dropping to my knees! I was trying to explain to my friends what it meant to be offered this and was showing him all the Pornhub pages and what I would be doing. It was a really good day. Especially since I later got to shoot for the Pornhub Awards.

What are you most excited about being a PH Ambassador?

I love the fact that Pornhub does projects that help the environment. I little while ago, I worked with Pornhub on their Beesexual campaign with Abella Danger, and that was so fun. It did a lot of good. Same with the Sexstainability project I recently worked on!

On the more materialistic side of it, I’m excited about all the new merch and photo shoots!

Can you share something with us your fans would be surprised to learn?

I’m actually very shy in every situation that is not porn and I don’t understand why. A lot of times, my porn persona is very different from the way I am and the way I talk on the day to day.  So I think there’s a bit of a night and day to me.

So “Kira Noir” is kind of like your alter ego?

I would say so. If it’s for porn, then I have no shame and feel completely fine with 3 million strangers looking into my asshole, but then, I’ll get totally embarrassed over a little interaction at a coffee shop.
